Project 1: Green-Go 2013 International Short Film Contest
For the first project, each student were given 3 topics to choose from to create an awareness video to create awareness about the natural environment. The topics are 'life in plastic, is fantastic?', 'water- the drop of life', and 'stayin alive'. The videos are to create awareness about the damage done by plastic, the importance of water and the importance to stop the extinction of annimals.
The topic that I have chosen is 'life in plastic, is fantastic?'. I created a video to help create awareness in other people about the damage that plastic can do to the natural environment and the amimals living in it. In the video, i also showed several ways to reuse plastic.
From this project, I have learnt how creative ways to create an awareness video such as the way to make a stop motion video. I also discovered the importance of the role we humans play in keeping the environment clean and safe for future generation. We have to do whatever it take to sustain the natural environment.
The purpose of this project was to help students understand why and how construction waste are produced in construction sites and how these construction waste impact the environment. All of the students had to understand the life cycle of a particular material and discover method on how to reuse them.
My team members and I visited a few construction site to see the amount of waste produced during construction. We interviewed the person in charge to see how large the amount of waste they produce and they waste they reused certain leftover materials. We gather as much information as we could through the analysis of the site and the interviews with people on site.
After collecting all the information we made a presentation board laid out with all our analysis on the construction sites. We made a few life cycle analysis on the materials wasted the most on the sites. After that, we created objects with the unwanted materials wasted on site.
